The Marlin Coast Region was formed in 1990 and is made up by our Member Organisations (MO's) which includes Branch (Cairns), Innisfail, Tablelands, Tully, Douglas, Evelyn and Mareeba.  The purpose of the Marlin Coast Branch is to give all players, coaches, umpires and volunteers the chance to upskill to enhance their netball experience.

 

The Marlin Coast Region supports the MO's by hosting regional events including player clinics, Coaches and Umpire workshops and inter regional competitions.  Players are only required to attend the clinic in their own area ie:  a Mareeba Netball player attends any clinic held at the Mareeba Netball Courts.  The Branch will also hold other events that the players, umpires and coaches are encouraged to attend such as Premier League, Gala Day etc as set on our calendar each year.

From our events, players will attend trials for selections to be part of the Kenfrost Homes Vicki Wilson Academy squad and the 15/u & 17/U teams.  The team/s will travel to an event to showcase the skills our region has to offer.  In previous years the Academy has travelled to South Australia, Sunshine Coast Academy & the NSW Senior State Age.  In 2024 the teams competed in the Singapore Academy Quad Series and bringing home the winners trophy in both divisions.

The Marlin Coast Branch also facilitates carnivals such us Fowlers Group Club Carnival, Representative Carnival and many of the Schools' carnivals held throughout the year.

 

The region is able to support the MO's through funding from Govt. Grants, Local sponsors and hardworking volunteers.
